After two decades of breakthroughs, we are going national.
For more than twenty years, our investigators have stood at the forefront of investigator-led cardiovascular discovery, pioneering coronary CT angiography, advancing AI-driven plaque analysis, partnering on first-in-human gene-silencing therapies, and training a generation of cardiologists at our world-renowned Cutting-Edge Cardiac CT Course.
The discoveries we are making in California now reach patients nationally and beyond. With Dr. Daniel Karlsberg, Chairman for the East Coast, we have a strong bi-coastal presence involving the most influential academic healthcare entities in both locations.
And so, with the unanimous support of our Board, we evolved into the National Institute for Cardiovascular Research and Innovation, niCVRI. Its ambition is now absolute: to eradicate heart disease through investigator-led research, philanthropy, education, and innovation.
National Recognition
The Karlsberg niCVRI Award for Best Science.
niCVRI has made a five-year commitment to fund the SCCT Annual Scientific Meeting Best Abstract Award — now formally designated the Karlsberg niCVRI Award for Best Science.
Co-authored with Dr. Daniel W. Karlsberg, Chairman East Coast, this enduring commitment reflects niCVRI’s dedication to recognizing early-career investigators making landmark contributions to cardiovascular computed tomography. The award is co-supported by niCVRI and the Ma Family, together sustaining recognition through 2029.
